Looking back...

Throughout my life, I have cultivated a profound belief in the power of the arts to inspire community understanding, possibility, and social change. I began my journey in the arts as a traditional Chinese folk singer and founder of my town's first student newspaper, and have since performed as a solo vocalist at Carnegie Hall, and as a member of the Harvard New Music Ensemble (directed by MacArthur Genius Claire Chase) and the Ferris Choral Fellows at Memorial Church. My artworks have been commissioned for venues such as the MIT Museum, ArtsFirst, and the Carpenter Center. I am also deeply passionate about building collaborative communities that bridge disciplines: I cofounded Conflux Collective, directed critically-acclaimed, interdisciplinary residency programs and exhibitions, and produced the 2023 "Who Owns the Truth?" symposium on AI and democracy at Ars Electronica (the world’s largest media art festival). I routinely host experimental workshops focused on transdisciplinary learning (e.g. collective dreams, affective robotics), which have earned recognition by the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
